August Monthly Update

I know, I know! I have my crap together enough to do a monthly update? Hard to believe, I know. But here’s the deal.

I’ve been writing for years. I’ve only been posting to subscriptions for about a year and a half. A lot of that has been new, seat-of-my-pants content. And a lot of it is Jack Kerouac me in front of a keyboard with no outline just running things. Which leaves me with stories running from 4000 to sometimes even 8000 words.

You shouldn’t have to devote an entire hour a week to read one guy’s stuff when there are also a lot of other authors you’re probably subscribed to. And frankly, I work hard. Really hard between this and my day job. Too much. And my bank account doesn’t match up with my stress and exhaustion.

So, I’ve been going through my catalog, my backlogs. Blowing off dust, fine-tuning, improving, and breaking stories into manageable reads. They’re getting shiny book covers, and get this; I’ve been recording audios.

That’s right. I’ve been streamlining things so much, I even have a schedule. Saturdays are new written story drops. Tuesdays are the audios recorded in an Audible fashion read by yours truly, and sometimes my wife when we can make that work, We’re trying.

So with the way we’ve been breaking this up, we’re kind of looking at a featured story of the month. At least for August.

August’s featured story is The Captured Crusader. It’s the story of Cadwin, a knight’s squire during the Crusades. He gets captured and is pressed into service of Princess Yasmina, who doesn’t simply want a slave. She wants him to be her big Christian bodyguard, but she also wants him to teach her ways of the flesh; something she has been forbidden up and till now. She’s still forbidden, but she finds herself able to manipulate Cadwin into an elicit affair.

I have the chapters of that, as well as matching audios, scheduled throughout this month, so stay tuned for a hot and historically inspired, spicy romance. We’ll be finishing that up in September and likely shifting gears to Sharing is Caring or drifting back to Worlds Apart if Mrs. J and I can finish that darned audio.
